I’m very happy to announce that Stirchley Sewing School are running their first courses at the coworking space, weeknight evenings from the end of June onwards. Charlotte is an experienced teacher, having led courses at Guthrie and Ghani and MAC and is striking out on her own doing her own thing. My big pink tables were made for this sort of thing - and I'm really proud to be supporting an independent maker. More information below and booking is available on the Stirchley Sewing School website.
"Stirchley Sewing School is founded by Charlotte Stacey, an experienced fashion and textiles lecturer, sewing tutor and independent dressmaker.
Learning to sew can help you keep the clothes in your wardrobe for longer by enabling you to alter your clothes to fit and fix them yourself. Making your own clothes is not only a fun skill to have, but can also boost your confidence wearing what you created.
Having taught classes ranging in different levels and abilities at many different locations in Birmingham, Charlotte decided it was time to use her years of teaching experience to form her own sewing school.
Classes are aimed at different levels; the first classes available are for beginners (with varied abilities, from absolute beginners, to intermediate beginners) and classes for more advanced sewers will be available to book in the coming weeks. (Be the first to find out by signing up to our monthly newsletter by clicking here)
The variety of courses will ensure that everyone can find a course suited to their own ability.
The images give you an idea of Charlotte’s pattern making and sewing skills which you will be taught.
Classes are held at The Old Post Office, Pershore Road, Stirchley.
