Fundraiser news

News from the fundraiser I co-organised with Chloë, which took place on Saturday...

£1291.30 was raised for Kings Heath Action for Refugees!

Thanks to the local businesses who donated generously to the raffle, and bakers who contributed their most loved bakes to the bake sale, and those who supported by queueing and buying cake and tickets, and to Chloë from Women in Hospitality/Verbena for being the absolute best co-organiser. Coworking space regular Dave from Ayu Studio was the winning raffle ticket with #80. (Here is a link to all the businesses who donated/baked)

It was a nice day raising funds for a very good cause, even more so after more awful world news.

When I am feeling hopeless about what's going on in the world I lean on the phrase: 'Think global, act local' and this event was the embodiment of that in the community.

Please follow and support Kings Heath Action for Refugees whose important work welcomes people settling into Birmingham and in transit across Europe.

KHAR are popping up next at CoCoMAD Saturday 2 July 12noon onwards selling their merch & crafting more Birds of One Sky ahead of their KHARnival.
