Accountability sessions
At the coworking space we hold weekly accountability sessions.
An accountability coworking session is a structured and collaborative work period where coworkers come together to work on their own tasks, while providing mutual accountability and support.
Overall, accountability coworking sessions combine the benefits of coworking - social interaction and a motivating environment - with a structured approach to accountability.
When
One afternoon, and one morning a week - shared via our newsletter / social media / whatsapp community. We’re trialling the best days that work for us and at the moment it seems to be Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings
Every Wednesday evening 6pm-9.30pm - the evening sessions are particularly good if you’re developing a project outside of work (or have ‘side quests’ as some coworkers say)
How much is it
The coworking space pricing is listed on the bookings page. There’s no extra cost for attending the accountability sessions, and half day timeslots are £8.50. Book your space using the bookings calendar
What happens at an accountability session?
Here’s a rough schedule of how we run the accountability sessions - the outline below is for an afternoon:
1.30-1.45pm, 15 minute brief introductions, coffee and chat - talk about what you’re going to be working on
1.45-2.30pm, 45 minutes of focused working
2.30-2.45pm, 15 minute break/cuppa, sharing how you got on, and what you’re working on next
2.45-3.30pm, 45 minutes of focused working
3.30-3.45pm, 15 minute break/cuppa
3.45-4.30pm, 45 minutes of focused working
4.30pm, debrief - plus the opportunity to wrap up what you’ve been working on before the coworking space closes at 5pm.
(If you are fully in the zone and don’t want to join in the break - you of course, do not have to!)
What people have said about the accountability sessions:
“I’m now a coworking convert”
“Within 15 minutes of starting the first accountability session, I’d accomplished something I’ve been putting off for weeks”
“It has been really good to chat to other people about what I’m working on, as a freelancer I don’t have that kind of peer support”
“I’ve now started to shape my other work days like the accountability sessions”.
What people have worked on during the accountability sessions:
Focused ongoing work
CV writing, Linkedin updates, blog posts, outreach
Life admin, changing internet providers, applying for passports, responding to accountants - you know, all the things you don’t want to do!
How to book
If you’d like to join us for some company and gentle encouragement, all you need to do is book your desk at the time an accountability session is taking place - it’s helpful to let us know you’re joining the accountability session, we’ll save you a space on the table.
